How Beyonce Lose 20 Pounds in 10 Days

Beyonce reported to have lost 20 pounds in 10 days for her role in movie Dreamgirls (2006). In the "Dreamgirls" she portrayed herself as younger, more slender self. She announced on the Oprah Winfrey show that she had lost 20 pounds on the Master Cleanse.
So here it is, the Maple Syrup Diet, also known as the Lemon Cleansing Diet, the Lemonade Diet or the Master Cleanse which can supposedly be used for 3-10 days safely. This diet isn't new. The naturopath, Stanley Borroughs, developed it back in the 1950's. Be forewarned: a "cleansing reaction" is often noticed in the first two days. (That's diarrhea to you and me.)

Take a clean one-gallon jug and pour in the following:
  • 3 Quarts of Water
  • 1 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1 Cup Pure Maple Syrup (not maple flavored, but the REAL stuff) or molasses

Shake it all up and drink 8-12 glasses a day.

Warning: You will experience cravings, aches, pains, mental irritability and fatigue. These are symptoms of your body's detoxification.

If you really want to flush your system, proponents of the Master Cleanse recommend doing the following:
  1. Go to your local health food store and get a herbal laxative tea that contains senna. While you're there purchase about 1 cup of non-iodized sea salt.
  2. Every morning, before your lemonade, mix two teaspoons of the sea salt with a quart of water and chug. Make sure you are near a toilet and have about an hour to spare. You'll need it.
  3. Every night, drink a cup of your laxative tea.

The exercise: Twisting lunge

A. Stand with feet parallel, arms at sides. Take a large step backward with left foot.

B. Turn so your upper body faces all the way to the left, and pivot both feet so your left foot faces forward and your right foot faces out (heel of left foot is perpendicular to right). Lower hands toward floor over left leg, being careful to keep left knee in line with left ankle. Pivot back to center and repeat on opposite leg. Do 12 to 15 reps; switch sides.

How to get motivated to lose weight fast? I want to share my stumble at nowloss.com and I hope  it will help you to reach your weight loss goal.

1. Keep on saying "So That"
Understanding your purpose and objective to lose weight, will help you to stick on the weight loss plan. Write on your diet journal "Why do I want to lose weight" and after you come up with a reason why, just keep on saying SO THAT.

For example:
I want to lose weight to look better SO THAT I can feel more confident about myself SO THAT I can be the best looking person at my high school reunion SO THAT I can see the surprised looks on the faces of my classmates SO THAT I may be able to go on a date with the person I had a crush on in high school.

2.Play the "If I Do" and the "If I don't game"
Take 2 sheets of paper and on the top of 1 sheet of paper you're going to write. The 1st sheet of paper you write a title like this:
"These are all the GOOD things that will start happening to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, or even 2,5, or 10 years from now IF I DO TAKE ACTION NOW TO LOSE WEIGHT
Then you'll fill up that sheet with every single GOOD thing you can imagine that will happen in the near and distant future If You DO take action now to lose weight so for example - you'll probably write things like:
  • I will see that I've lost 2+ pounds by the end of the week...
  • In 2-to-5 months other people will tell me how much better I look...
  • I'll be shopping for that new dress that'll accentuate my new hourglass figure

The 2nd sheet of paper you write the contra of the 1st sheet.
These are all the BAD things that will start happening to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, or even 2,5, or 10 years from now IF I DO NOT TAKE ACTION NOW TO LOSE WEIGHT
    Then you'll fill up that sheet with every single BAD thing you can imagine that will happen in the near and distant future If You DON'T take action now to lose weight. For example - you'll probably write something things like this:
    • I'll still be wearing all black clothes to make me look thin...
    • I'll still be scared to go out in public because of my weight...
    • Other people will call me fat behind my back...

    Every time you feel like giving up on your weight loss goals take 10 minutes and read your IF I DO and IF I DON'T sheets to motivated you once again to lose weight.

    3. Make a bet with yourself
    Here's some examples of bets you can make to make sure you will REALLY want to lose weight like tell everyone at your workplace that you will eat a HUGE can of DOG Food in front of everyone if you don't lose 10 pounds before a certain event.
        4. Make excuses to win and Don't make excuses to lose
        STOP making lame excuses NOT to lose weight like "I can't workout cause I get sweaty" or "I don't have time to lose weight". If you don't have time – make time! because you always do a good job of making time to watch LOST, American Idol, Dancing with the stars or whatever TV show you waste your time on.

        5 . Set deadlines to your weight loss goal
        Let's say on the way to your big goal to lose 100 pounds in 10 months your actual lose is 12 pounds in your 1st month. You can reward yourself by buying yourself a new dress or going out to a movie. DO NOT reward yourself by sabotaging your weight loss plan or diet by eating stuff that's going to put weight back on.

        If you don't meet your deadlines you have to punish yourself for example punish yourself by not watching TV for a week or by not going shopping for a month.

        6. Get a magazine and...
        • Get a picture of yourself and cut out just the face and make sure you're smiling in the picture.
        • Take your smiling face and place it over the face of the person on the cover.
        • Make copies of the magazine cover and post it everywhere in your house and make a special note under it saying, "I will get a sexy body just like this cover model and when I do, I will laugh in the surprised faces of all the people who said I could never look like this".
        I hope this will keep you motivated. No one can stop you but yourself

                Stroke: How to Identify Stroke

                Strokes happen when blood flow to your brain stops. A stroke is sometimes called a "brain attack." Within minutes, brain cells begin to die.

                I received email from friend today, which I think is useful and informative. The fourth indicator of stroke. Read and spread the words, who knows you stand a chance of saving at least one life.


                During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ....she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

                They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the party.

                Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

                It only takes a minute to read this.

                A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

                RECOGNIZING A STROKE

                Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR. Read and Learn!

                Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

                Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

                S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

                T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
                (i.e. It is sunny out today.)

                R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

                If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

                Flat Abs Exercise: Scissors Kick Step by Step

                1. Lie down with your back pressed against the floor or on an exercise mat (optional). Your arms should be fully extended to the sides with your palms facing down.
                2. [Note: The arms should be stationary the entire time.]
                3. With a slight bend at the knees, lift your legs up so that your heels are about 6 inches off the ground. This is the starting position.
                4. Now lift your left leg up to about a 45 degree angle while your right leg is lowered until the heel is about 2-3 inches from the ground.
                5. Switch movements by raising your right leg up and lowering your left leg. Remember to breathe while performing this exercise.
                6. Repeat for the recommended amount of repetitions.
                7. Variation: As you get more advanced, you can wear ankle weights for resistance.
                I am working myself to work on this religiously, and I am trying another moves in Exercise and Nutrition Tips. If not for a flat abs, at least I'll do it for my health sake.

                  Eucalyptus Oil : Its Many Uses Other Than Treating Colds and Coughs

                  Eucalyptus oil is the generic name for distilled oil from the leaf of Eucalyptus, a genus of the plant family Myrtaceae native to Australia and cultivated worldwide. I quote this explanation from the wikipedia. I like the smell of eucalyptus oil. It smell like a baby, so fresh and clean.

                  I literally use eucalyptus oil whenever I caught with a colds and coughs. I know I'm going to be sick when I have a dry cough, sometimes comes with a sore throat. Before it going worse, I will seek eucalyptus oil for the magic cure. Drab a drop of eucalyptus oil on nostrils. Massage the oil briskly on the chest and back. For babies, dilute the eucalyptus oil in water and baby oil and rub with gentle on his chest and back.

                  Well, eucalyptus oil is not only good at treating colds and coughs. It also best use to relieve breathing discomfort. When you have runny nose, sometimes breathing is difficult that you have to breathe through the mouth. Breathing discomfort is really miserable especially during bedtime. Add required amount of eucalyptus oil to a bowl of steaming hot water, cover the head with a towel and inhale the penetrating vapors to clear up a stuffy nose and make breathing easier.

                  I use this eucalyptus oil for my baby after his bath. I simply rub this oil gently on his abdomen to ease flatulence. This oil is good in preventing 'wind' for newborn when applied to their navels.

                  Using eucalyptus oil for baby bath stimulates blood circulation. But I rarely use it for my baby bath, instead I use for mine. Just add a few drop of eucalyptus oil in your warm bath water. It gives invigorating feeling. When I caught with colds, taking bath with a mixture of eucalyptus oil in a warm water keep my body warm.

                  When travel far, no matter by plane or car I always feel terrible because I have always had a motion sickness. If you ever had experience like me, you know what I'm talking about.   You feel nausea, upset stomach, drowsiness and fatigue. Very bad feeling. This day, you can deal motion sickness with Relief Band for Motion Sickness. But I still choose eucalyptus oil for relief. It is like a travel aromatherapy for me. Just drop one or two on a handkerchief and smell it to cope with the nausea feeling, and sleep all the way till I reach my destination.

                  To soothe an aching muscular and joint, massage the eucalyptus oil on the affected area. Apart from the medicinal uses, you still can use eucalyptus oil around the houses. My friend says, he use eucalyptus oil as air freshener. He just refill an empty air freshener bottle and use it around his house for fresher air. You can use these tips I read from a website called greenlivingtips.

                  He shares another use of eucalyptus oil.

                  • General disinfectant for toilets - mix 50 ml (1.6 oz) of eucalyptus oil with a litre (quart) of water. That's it - you can store it as you would a normal disinfectant.
                  • Can be used neat in order to remove sticker/decal residue from glass
                  • Add 1-2 teaspoonfuls of eucalyptus oil to your load of washing for a fresh scent along with the anti-microbial benefits 
                  • Use the oil neat to help remove paint, grease and ink from clothes
                  • If you have a hanging car air freshener that's almost dead, reinvigorate it by adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil
                  • Half a teaspoon mixed with half a litre (half quart) of water makes for a good bug repellent for plants
                  • Use it as a stainless steel cleaner
                  • To use as a room air freshener, mix a quarter of a teaspoon or 15 drops of eucalyptus oil with a half teaspoon of vodka, place in an atomizer/spray bottle and add 2 cups of water.
                  • A good dust mite solution for the floors is boiling water and eucalyptus as well, it makes a good damp mop when the dust bunnies are breeding. It kills the mites.

                  Miriam-Webster define headache as pain in the head. Headache decrease quality work performance because headache put us in uncomfortable situation to perform the best. Here are common causes of headaches and how to find relief.

                  (1) Migraine headaches is often experienced on only one side of the head, and is characterised by throbbing as opposed to a constant pain. Along with the migraine headache also comes vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, and disruption of sleep patterns. The cause of migraine headaches is still unknown. Migraine headaches often run in families, so there may be a hereditary component. In women, migraine headaches may be experienced during or before menstruation. This is likely due to hormonal changes in the body during this time period.

                  Relief: A minority of migraines may be induced by triggers. Triggers are specific factors that may increase your risk of having a migraine attack. When you learn to identify the triggers it will be easier for you to avoid them and reduce your chances of migraine attack. What is migraine triggers?

                  (2) Stress headaches are often present in those who work long hours without enough relaxation. Peer pressure and pressure to do school work adds up and causes headaches. The dangerous thing about these headaches is that they are often paired with high blood pressure and in some cases, obesity or weight gain.

                  Relief: Stress is good when it become the factor for us to strive for the best. But when we are not handle stress with care, we will fragile. Identify what makes you stress and find the positive solution. Read my previous post on simple way to release stress at home.

                  (3) Magnesium deficiency will also cause headaches, and caffeine is known to deplete bodily supplies of magnesium. Caffein withdrawal headache happen when the blood vessels in your brain are returning to their normal size and blood-flow potential. The increased circulation in the brain that results from this is what causes the throbbing agony of a caffeine withdrawal headache.

                  Stress is a natural part of life. The cause of stress are many. Not enough money, loaded of works, tight deadline, unsettled debt, stubborn children, you name it. Chronic high stress can prevent you from losing weight, no matter how well you eat or how often you exercise. Stress - good stress - can be a great motivating force for us to work harder, keeps you energized and focused. But when stress becomes unmanagable, it can affect your health and decrease your productivity at work. As a matter of fact, you cannot delete stress like simply pressing the 'delete' button on your keyboard. But good news is you can deal stress the healthy way and get your life back.

                  There is always a place to find relax. The closest one is your own home. How you can make you home as a place to unwind you from stress?

                  1) Create a spa environment in your own home

                  Pamper yourself in your very own bathroom. Light an aromatherapy candles and turn on soothing music at the background to get the mood. Drop a few aromatherapy oil in your bath water. Before you step in the water, make sure you prepare a clean towel. Lock the bathroom door and switch off your phone to avoid any disruption.                   You have enough at work. Home is a place to relax, don't bring extras at home. Simply lazing in your private corner and have a 'me' time. As for me? Marathon a k-drama all night long. Haha

                  It's impossible to find a house without foods. Show some skills, and cook like a masterchef. If you lack of ideas, shop for a recipe books in bookstore. There are a lot. You can also simply browse the internet and try to cook your favorite food.

                  4) Dancing

                  Dance the pounds away! Zumba dance is a fun way to lose weight. It's also an option to de-stress. Isn't that sound amazing? Dance and you got to unwind after a hectic schedule while at the same time losing weight.

                  5) Find new hobbies

                  New hobby, perhaps gardening? Gardening as a hobby can be an effective tool for stress management as well. A study shows that gardening improves positive mood more than other leisure activity such as reading. Tending to other living things brings you closer to the earth and heal yourself.

A relaxing bubble bath is another way to relieve stress at home. Light aromatherapy candles in your bathroom and play soothing music at the background for relaxation. After bath time, take time to relax on bed, reading your favorite books to asleep.
